One of the things I'm most proud of is the fact that the entire Ars Technica staff were readers and community members before coming aboard, and this is also true for our freelancers, with maybe one exception. One of the ways this was accomplished was by reaching out to you guys when we had opportunities. We are looking to expand our freelance pool, thus the purpose of this post. Right now we have many opportunities—too many to list, in fact. We are not looking for day-in, day-out work, but rather the occasional pitch and article. What matters most is the content, and what you can bring to a topic. Generally we are looking for the following: Subject matter experts: people who are significantly on top of a field or topic. IT gurus: either journalists with previous experience covering enterprise and/or SMB, or IT professionals with experience who are willing to write. Journalists in tech: professional (paid) experience chasing down and reporting on matters relating to technology.
